NEW RELEASE: Dinan F30 340i Exhaust

Name: F30_340i_Exhaust_banner.jpg
Views: 6874
Size: 256.6 KB

Dinan engineers designed the F30 BMW 340i exhaust to improve exhaust flow by reducing back pressure, resulting in increased power output and a great sporty sound that is civilized when you want it to be, and pleasantly aggressive under hard acceleration. Not only is the tone improved but the additional burbles and pops that come with it are simply intoxicating. Dinan also incorporates a Helmholtz chamber design that reduces resonance or “drone” at low RPM.

The system is built to exacting specifications to ensure perfect fit using the factory hangers. It is made from 100% 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and will resist corrosion for years to come. The design features twin 89mm (3.5") ceramic black exhaust tips for a tasteful, high-performance look.

Benefits of the Dinan Free Flow Exhaust for the F30 340i:
  • Uses the factory brackets and hangers for a factory-like fitment.
  • Helmholtz chamber to reduce drone.
  • Enjoyably louder, sportier Sound
  • 100% 304 stainless steel construction
  • Twin 89mm (3.5") laser engraved ceramic black or polished exhaust tips
  • + 6 HP @ 6600 RPM, 5 FT-LB
  • Factory computer-controlled exhuast valve is eliminated
  • Fits both standard and M-Aerodynamic bumpers

Product Page:

It mentions a midpipe - is that also for sale? Part number/price for the midpipe?

Nice video! I love it when somebody takes the time and puts some thought into a product video.

The only thing that is missing is the product info on the midpipe.

Ahh yes the mid-pipe. I was in a rush yesterday to post this and forgot the blurb about the mid-pipe. My apologies.

The original post has been updated but the mid-pipe is not yet available as we are awaiting some production pieces to come in (might as well utilize our Flowmaster connection to limit production costs). Instead of doing another video it seems more logical to just include it in a full comparison video. In the meantime before the Dinan mid-pipe release at least it will give you a rough idea of the sound with a mid-pipe on there in general.

It's coming though. Price should be competitive if not lower then competition as well when all is said and done.

I thought a valve controlled exhaust was being developed. It appears this does not utilize any computer controlled valves. According to the product page.

Also, the mid pipe makes a huge difference

Wow that sounds great with the midpipe.

Cost with the midpipe? Introductory new to market group buy?

Crude version of DINANTRONICS is on the car but there is still a lot of development to go on the platform. Still way to many variables at play to really give any estimated time table. Would be throwing a dart at the wall.

3D printed variants of the intake have been being tested. I believe the engineers have settled on a specific design and have ordered molds and what not but to be honest I haven't been following that project too closely.

Cool. Hopefully it goes thru emissions testing and gets a CARB EO# quick.

Definitely make the MPE louder. Would be essentially a resonator delete at the point.

In progress. Stage 1 and 2 need to be done and released before a stage 3 can be released though. =p

Muffler is shipping. Mid-pipe hit a delay in release as parts were continually rejected for not meeting specs (is a section of pipe with a bunch of turns that for some reason is difficult to get correct with a vendor it appears). New ETA on that release is 30 days (along with some other midpipe/resonator delete kits).

Why the decision not to reuse the exhaust valve actuator.. Remus is reutilizing it and gives some adjustibility to the sound

On the smaller cars (Non-M, Non-V8) we typically do not integrate the valves as we do not need them to help in controlling drone since the helmholtz chambers do that job sufficiently. Whereas on the M cars and the V8's we retain the valves for just that purpose in assisting in controlling drone.

Probably doesn't hurt that it saves a bit of money by not using valves as well. =)
