the x5 threw a check engine light and reduced power message yesterday took it in to the dealer The HPFP is bad. Glad BMW learned from the N54 and have everything sorted out on the N55

Mine was toast the night I drove my 335 off the lot at 35k km, been good since though (at 75k now).

My hpfp went out at 46k miles. Honestly, the N55 isn't bulletproof as some like to think. Every car has its kinks.

Mine was weak (longer cranks), failed the dealer bleed down test, and had fault codes.

Replaced @ 87K miles under 3rd party CNA warranty.

Mine went at 31k miles

Mine's is going as we speak here and to think I was telling BMW about the symptoms long before I learned here from reading about it how these HPFPs die slowly or die all of a sudden.

For whatever reason I they never put two and two together to see that I told them about large backfire, slow starts, stalling and other issues that I'm certain points to the HPFP failing.
