Exclamation M25 Speed Cameras

I had to make it to a meeting in Epsom this morning - new department site visit one off.

I drove from J16 Uxbridge and came off at J10.

I followed the over head speed limits all the way and never put my foot down.

However, on my return journey, from J10 to J16, I missed a few of them. One said 50 and I was doing 60 from the previous one... the next one was national speed limit but I was doing 80...

I guess I was tired after 2 hours of driving just to get there... no excuse I know but this is how I was...

Does anyone have any experience of these cameras? Are they always live? Are there actually cameras in those locations?

The only information I can find is about the Kent junctions and thereabouts regarding the smart motoward system of HADECS3.

Thank you

Sorry to hijack the thread op, but does this waze plugin to google maps when using it for nav or is it standalone?

Looks like the plug in works for chrome browser but not sure if you could achieve the same in the google maps app for iPhone or Android. That would be the next level of Google if they could incorporate something like this into their smart phone app.

I wouldn't count on it. They seem intent on sabotaging their map/nav products. I can't see them making them more useful.

Waze is a standalone app that you could get for free from the App/Play/Windows store, It is great, use it daily, has helped loads by finding me the best route into work, only thing is it eats up your mobile date which could be a problem for some.

more than likely you'll be fine op. Often gantries don't seem to have active camera.
Myself, the only one I recall seeing go off was for a police car doing about 120mph with the blues and twos going.
Not sure if these ones also still use film which can run out and needs replacing or if they've gone digital.

I can't imagine any speed cameras are still running with film these days.

The cameras are live, but the threshold is quite high when set to national speed limit (lower when the variable limit is in place)

80mph should be OK

Don't worry about the cameras.

I can't remember the last time I saw one go off on the m25.

Very recently on my way back from Hemel Hempstead to the M4 exit. I did see a whole row of them go off a head of me at night (reduced speed limit at the time, most cars were at 70).. So they do exist, whether anyone got a ticket is another story.

There are now Hadecs camera's on this section (camera's are to the left of the gantry, above the hardshoulder).

There is one set just past J10 A3 (if you are heading clockwise) and another a few junctions up.

One way to spot these in advance is look for 3 small camera's located on the verge about 300 meters before the gantry (you cant always see the gantry cameras eg if several trucks in front of you in lane1).

Ive recently noticed one camera painted in yellow on the left side on the gantries, just above the hard shoulder. They aren't on every gantry, but it looks like they are locking the whole motorways down

this...

I travel from junction 11 to junction 21 ( and anti-clockwise ) every day. The Hadecs are always on, using digital photos, so no film. I think the Hadecs use a new radar technology so unless you have a military grade radar jammer, you're going to get caught. Oh, and there's no flash

Whether they're on 24 / 7, depends on the police jurisdiction they fall under.
