And here is what happened to those quotes when I added 8 years no claims?

The price of the clio is exactly the same with 8 years no claims as it was with none?

That very likely due to it being 3rd party.

No claims discount tends to impact fully comp more.

Isn't it the case that you can only use your NCD in one car policy ? I.e if this is a second car, and you've used it on your main car, then you can't use it on this anyway.

Garage List
As above TPFT isn't so impacted by NCD

Get sone quotes for fully comp. you may find it doesn't make that much difference if any in cost especially on an older car.

As said also some insurers will only allow NCD on one car.

Might be worth considering classic car insurance as it will be your weekend toy -this will limit your mileage and not cover on the track - same as most regular insurance.

Presuming the insurance is there only to get you to and from the track.

My wife's insurance company charged an extra £40 a year to park her car in the garage instead of on the drive!
Apparently they have a lot of claims from people driving into their garages!

A mate of mine that works for co-op insurance reckons it costs more to insure on drive than on street parking, as parking on a drive means any prospective thief knows where the keys are! Not tried it myself when running quotes as I'm not due for a couple of months but it'll be interesting to see if it is true! Personally would have thought that the added danger of being vandalised or hit while on street would be more of a risk.
