Typical of society today?
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-essex-35957982
I just can't get my head around why people act this way. The road workers are just doing their job. What possesses someone to get up one day and think it, "I know what, I'm going to throw urine at them today" or "I'm sure if I threaten them with a knuckle duster, the road works will stop tomorrow." |

That is pretty disgusting and I am in no way condoning that sort of thing, as you say the workers are just doing their job.
However it does piss me off that you always get a big increase in road works at this time of year as councils spend their budgets, because if they don't spend it they won't get it next year. We pay enough bloody tax, having some local council protect their little empire with pointless wasteful work that also inconveniences people just so they can continue to tax too much next year is doubly ridiculous. |

The councils have to keep back a proportion of money to pay for any emergency works that might be required. Lets say they just allocated all the money, from the start of the financial year, and did jobs with the money. Obviously (with longer days and better weather) they would get through more work and complete more jobs in the summer, and less in the winter. So they'd spends a larger proportion of the money in the first 6 months of the financial year Now imagine a decent-sized landslip happens in late February. There's no money to pay for repairs because the money has all been allocated and used up. Oops So they have to hold back funds until the time is such that the probability has shrunk to a very low level - and much like pensions, etc. that is all done on actuarial tables. Only when they get past that date can they start spending that 'reserve' of money. But there's such a small window of time left - due to those actuarial tables ! So whilst it is convenient to blame the little empire builders at the councils, it's rather more complex than that. Unless, of course, you WANT your council to just close off freshly-damaged roads from the start of March, until the new financial year rolls around ! Not as simple as it looks, is it ? |

Please don't counter my Daily Mail style rants with fair and balanced information Robbie. It's definitely small minded council jobsworths who are to blame for everything, except when it is immigrants, the EU, or Gordon Brown.

Anyone who has a part in building a cycle path deserves a smack in the mouth.

Typical moronic idiots who feel it is appropriate to behave in this sort of mindless manner towards those in a public service role.
Let's hope they feel the force of the law.

The workmen should all piss and gob into a large container, then the perpetrators should be forced to drink it live on TV before they are shot in the face and their bodies dumped in the sea.
Did I go too far?

Surely it would be more effective to bury them in Tarmac, just heads showing. Either down the side or across the carriageway / cycle path. Or down side of pavement, dogs would appreciate the thought. |

Sadly it is getting a little typical of society. LvG has been throwing shit on the pitch at Old Trafford for a few years now with no payback
