Mossack Fonseca - Panama Leak
So what's the feeling about all those poor people getting named in the latest money laundering - tax avoidance scheme?
http://news.sky.com/story/1672075/of...aders-revealed http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/business-35944255 While those in this country may get beaten up by the 'Tax Police', those in some countries may literally get hung drawn and quartered.. |

The people involved are not in my social group, so I won't shed a tear if a bit of embarrassment follows ...
But I'm not surprised by the news that some very wealthy people might do all they can to avoid paying tax. Surprised it has come out though, being a supposedly highly secretive operation. If it's worth £7.2bn in lost UK taxes then it may help potentially pay towards schools or our health service, if in the future any of that can be actually collected. |

Wherever there's influence and money, there's dirt hidden under the carpet. The wealthy are too tight to pay their dues. Expose everything, that's what I say (the rich & unscrupulous, not a sudden interest in dogging).

There's 2600gb of files going back 40 years - there will be enough world famous and/or super rich individuals connected to tax evasion, money laundering, sanction breaches, and other financial crimes to keep the media busy and unlikely to focus on specific individuals practising legal tax avoidance. However, what's more incriminating is the huge proportion relating to British jurisdictions so it could lead to closure of certain loopholes (and rightfully so) by gov clamping down being seen to do something.
The type of individuals involved in these documents are so high up the upper echelons of society that I have absolutely no sympathy for any of them. |

I can see it being political dynamite and around the world it will cause turmoil in some places.
Apparently It has not been reported at all in Russia, obviously Putin wants to keep his moving cash out of country secret lol. |

I've got a funny feeling that with all those " top" people involved the case will be seriously watered down with a few individuals being fed to the albeit small dogs with the majority walking away relatively unscathed.
Good luck to the tax man trying to give Putin a tax bill or to the Chinese

This no doubt will spread.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35964517 Imagine your country's banks collapsed, you became a laughing stock in Europe and then you find out your Prime Minister has been squirrelling money away in Panama... I do find it humorous that those good communists in China are using offshore tax havens, just like good capitalists would do, or... The previous leaders of the Chinese empire, double fucking standards or what. Bet you Mao is spinning in his grave and well pissed of he missed that tax dodge out of his little red book. |

There will be outrage, middle class and working class people will be horrified, those implicated will be vilified. Then the world will continue as normal and those most in need will not even realise this went on and will continue to struggle to stay alive...

Well first head has rolled, looks like more on the cards and some interesting companies being uncovered.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/business-35944316 I did not realise just how big this 'leak' was. There is no way this was simply leaked, it is a fucking huge amount of very specific data. I would not be suprised if who ever leaked it was supported by 'security services'. 2.6 TB of data. |
