It's not a limited model if that's what you mean? They'll make as many as they sell.

Was in my dealer Monday and snapped this little fella.

Saleschap approaches...
"Hi Andy, you ready for that M3 yet?"
"Hello Nick, very nearly, you just need to sharpen your pencil But this looks great. Auto too. Tell me if I...."
"Before you ask, it's not for sale, it's BMW's and we can't sell it".
"Oh"

Talk about dangling the carrot. "You can look at the M2 - but you can't buy it"

Well, not unless you wait a year.

My car was in for a service on Monday. Chatting to the guy in sale I know he reckons they were only allocated 2 cars at that dealership. They'd had 8 people want to place orders, and are going first come first served. He reckons production will be ramped up.

What did you think Andy? Impressed, nice stance and width to it? Little flat on the inside but a looker from the outside, better than photos?

Better than photos... yes. Stance and width did look suitably mean. Real presence and much more muscular compared to the svelte 2 near to it. M2 = male, 2 = female.

The colour was very very nice, not too in yer face, but defo not a colour we see on our roads very often. Wheels looked just perfect in my view, not a fan of black, but against this shade of blue looked awesome. Chrome pipes need to be black though I'd say.

I'm a massive non-fan of dakota, my old 123d was black and went a bit shiny, but I never really tried to treat it. I also prefer something more individual and lighter. But this did suit the type of car very well. I noted the blue stitching looked purposeful and I stroked the Dakota and thought, you know it's not as bad as I remember.

But it doesn't have 4 doors, is small inside and the boot would struggle with those dump trips, but I'll be honest if it had been for sale, I think I'd have just done the deal there and then. Two more for you sir:

See my post in the M2 dilemma thread - BMW UK has provided cars to lots of dealers for the launch on Saturday - I'm guessing they'll all be up for sale soon!

Oh is it Saturday. Fantastic of my dealer, through which I've an actual order, to let me know.

No wonder I'm speaking with TRL!
