New Camaro vid.

This is cake for all of you guys that think this design is "retro".

I'm seriously considering one of these and upgrading some engine bits. Can only imagine how much fun that would be.

Little tid bit for you guys. Chevy did absolutely NO focus groups for this car, nor did they allow any marketing influence whatsoever. This will be a take it or leave it kinda car. I'll gladly take it.

Less groovy and more bitchin'! If Chevy doesn't change the real thing too much from the concept car, this will be a hit!

Ford, Chevy, Mopar musclecars. Oh yeah!

I'm seriously considering this car along w/ an E90/E92. I know it's an American car, but I love Chevy's and a few other GM models, I have pride in muscle cars from my country and the new Camaro is going to hall ass. Dare I say it may even go up against the E92? It will, and quite possibly trample it.... according to Bob Lutz. How bout that to start some controversey?

Check this, old guys Muscle car tuner looks to make a hot rod version of the new Camaro once it's launched in 08'(Yep, that's right, the launch has supposedly been pushed ahead to 08' > More on that in a bit).

Quote:
IS THERE A PHASE IV MOTION CAMARO IN YOUR FUTURE?

Chevrolet may be a little late coming to the party, but the proposed new Camaro has what takes to "spank" the 'Stang and get the Bowtie Brigade dancin' in the streets!

On January 13, Jim Mateja, Auto Editor, Chicago Tribune, headlined his coverage of the Detroit Auto Show, "CAMARO DRIVES OFF WITH AUTO SHOW BUZZ", FOLLOWED BY "THE CHEVROLET CAMARO CONCEPT STOLE THE SHOW."

We at Baldwin-Motion couldn't agree more!

GM's Director Of Design, Tom Peters, who owns a 1969 Camaro powered by a ZL-1 engine, truly defined what a modern day production musclecar should look and run like. The fully functioning Camaro concept, built on an 112-inch wheelbase GTO platform, is powered by a 400-hp LS2 6.0 small-block hooked up to a six-speed transmission. Like the Baldwin-Motion 540 Camaro SuperCoupe, it has 14-inch disc brakes all around. Kudos to Peters and his staff.

According to GM Vice-Chairman and product guru, Bob Lutz, the production target is 120 to 150,000 units per year. And GM's Vice-President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, a 1969 Camaro owner, was also quoted in the Chicago Tribune, "A convertible is in the works."

Kris Horton, working with Joel Rosen and Larry Jaworske, penned the prototype Baldwin-Motion SuperCoupe design, and he’s been feverishly working on concepts for a limited-production Phase IV version of the next generation Camaro. Fresh from winning GM's Best Design Award at SEMA for the SuperCoupe, Horton is one of the hottest young automotive designers around.

"When Chevrolet builds the next generation Camaro, Baldwin-Motion will be ready with a Phase IV version available from select Chevrolet dealers. In the tradition of the original Baldwin-Motion Camaros, the Phase IV Camaro will be quicker, faster and turn more heads than any new musclecar from Motown. Like the SuperCoupe, I'll sign each one," said Joel 'Mr. Motion' Rosen.

Stay Tuned...

$18k+ for the V6 model(bah)

$25-$28k for the V8, and there will be an SS version for sure which will probably push into the 30's. Just so you guys know there will also be a new GTO right around the time the new Camaro debuts. Not sure when they will launch it, as they have to be careful so that the Camaro won't steal the GTO's thunder.

It won't be very expensive, I can tell you that much. Read the above price guesstimates for an idea.

I bet the base V-8 version (like the old Z28) should be around $30k. The SS version is likely to be $35k+. It really depends on what the Challenger and Shelby Cobra sell for.
