Bonus cash windfall. Splash out or invest ???

Had a lottery ticket lying around which I knew was a winner but hadn't had time to cash it in !!!

Off to my local Sainsburys today to collect my winnings handed the ticket over to the nice lady on the counter only to be told that tickets worth £2.90 !!!!!!!!

Was only expecting £2.19- that's a massive 30% more than I anticipated so my question is should I go and blow the extra or invest for the future ??

Incidentally the nice lady was giving me the eye as well think she might be a gold digger ??

I'm a great believer in paying off any debts that you may have so what about paying it off a mortgage if you have one. Could make a considerable difference to the term.

My parents have always said to me to "pay your debts and live on the rest" so I would suggest contacting your financial adviser for the best course of action.

Take if from me, I was in a similar situation some years ago £2.90 can disappear just like that

Lot of wise words been said on here and also an offer of business partnership.

Surprisingly for this forum a lot of advice to invest etc. Fortunately paid my mortgage off many moons ago. So might be tempted to go for the blow option.

More suggestions to use my windfall as a deposit on an M3 - in reality this will be happening once I get my funds released from the Nigerian bank account I mentioned in an earlier post.

Major General Umbongo of the Nigerian High Comission assures me this should be happening any time soon once he's verified the credit card details I sent him as proof of ID.

If he doesn't want a real one he could always buy one of these.
