N55 E92 335i vs Dodge Charger V8?
What would win in a race starting from a dig (0 mph)?
a N55 E92 335i with 7" FMIC, DP, CP, and JB4 Map 2 - 6SM or a Dodge Charger V8 completely stock - automatic with paddle shifters Both cars are RWD? Thanks. The reason I'm asking is cause this kid wants to race me and wants to each put in $100 but he thinks I'm stock, so I basically need to know if I should I do it? |

SRT-8 (485hp), you will lose... 375hp 5.7 hemi, you may pull ahead of him fairly quick. Those cars are about 4150lbs....

2008-2010 SRT8 was 425hp 2011+ is 470hp. The older one runs the 1/4 in about 13 flat and the new one is 12.6. It will be a damn good race vs the older one and you might need E30 and map 5 to hang with the newer one. If this is just a V8 Challenger and not an SRT8, then you are going to walk him.

I’ve put bus lengths on SRT8’s from a roll (40,50,60,70) in my E90 N55 FBO. I have good friend who has one, intake, tune and exhaust. He couldn’t believe how hard my E90 could pull!

Shallow stage. Good reaction. Hole shot him by a half-second or more. Do you know your optimal shift points? He probably doesn't know his. (by the way, optimal shift points are NOT the same RPM in every gear). |

It depends how long your race is as well, the longer the length, the worse it will get for you. Especially due to the fact our power band on the stock turbo ends at latest 5500rpm, the v8 will continue to pull to redline throughout every gear.
I've raced a stock srt8, 5.0gt, and a camaro ss. I take advantage from a dig since I have no traction issues, I have to bet to put enough distance in the first 60ft if I want to have a chance for the quarter mile mark. Its easy to get the jump on them, but they definitely start to reel me in after 150km/h. If its a 80-100km/h roll race, I still get the jump, but don't stay ahead for long, I've had better luck from a lower roll. You're already letting him assume you're stock, which is probably why he's betting the $100, so you already have the upper hand. Take the bet and run him, or tell him you're modded and maybe hell change his mind to just have a friendly run. |
