Well it's snowing here, bit of a minor suprise, the weatherman said it would, however...

To all those that have just taken your winters off, just remember remain calm.

A bit like the '70's thread, we never really had winters back in the 70's and 80's.

So it's apparently not an issue driving a car in light snow fall in 3 season tyres.

Don't worry stay calm, it will be okay.

You can still get to the shops, no need to stock pile.

However, yes it is 1c outside and snowing, so some of you may (from comments over the winter) need to get your tyres swapped over.

I put summers on a couple of weeks a go, and had a 250 mile round trip yesterday where temperatures were between 2 - 5 degrees with lots of torrential rain (conditions where I felt very confident with the winters on). I made plenty of progress, plenty of heavy breaking and not the slightest twitch or warning from the summers.

I think I will keep the winters for when it's regularly frosty and chance of snow, which it didn't really happen this year. Won't tell the Mrs though as that's sure to get the "I told you so" eye roll...

TBH Tengo, I'd got up at 3am and set off at 3.20am to travel to an event at Twickenham stadium, so I reckon I could have driven through a live battlefield and not really cared such was my haggard and consumed mood.

One thing to note is the car doesn't like standing water at all had a few moments when faced with that.

Still snow here in the North East - however to get to it you'd have to be on the top of the Cheviot at 2,500 feet plus.
