European Delivery?

I was wondering if I did this would it come with the euro standards or with the american standards? Like the amber reflectors in the light would that be clear if I would have done europe delivery?

State any other differences that would cause too, thanks!

It would come as if you bought it locally in Scottsdale.

Entirely US Spec. No different than your neighbor who bought the car off the lot.

Just like what SoYank said. Their is no difference for options or with the exterior look of the car.

The ONLY things you get with Euro delivery are Euro License plate, First aid kit and warning triangles. But you only get the first aid kit and warning triangles if you remember to pack them in your suit case for you trip back home. Otherwise BMW confiscates them. I'm not sure about the license plate if that is left in the car or not.

Try using the search function. There is an entire section devoted to European Delivery. Also search on the BMWUSA site.

Because of how the taxes work out on the car, I think.

Actually, it's the US Customs folks that take those out of the cars...

One of the reasons why ED is cheaper is because it does not come out of the dealer's allocation unless it's a //M car.

There are other unconfirmed possibilities:
1. Promote tourism.
2. Promote the brand/experience.

As I understand it, the program (and others from other manufacturers) started when their brands were much less popular here. They were essentially a promo ("buy a car, get a vacation free")...

And you can throw your license plate/warning triangle/first aid kit in the lower trunk compartment... mine were there when I picked it back up stateside. Not that I'm recommending evading Customs or anything...

It "cuts" out the middleman (dealer).

Think of it as BMWNA selling the car to you directly. The dealer is just doing paperwork on your behalf. There is no inventory/interest costs involved.

Just do it. But check out the wikipedia/bimmerfest site first. It will explain why their are cost savings and most any other question you might have about euro delivery.

at the end of the day you will spend the same amount of money with or without ED but with the savings that you can get by doing ED, you can treat it as if BMW is paying for your airline ticket to europe... so if you have the time to do it, go for it and have some fun in europe with your car.

It is a great brand loyalty building tool! Do it once and you will never go back to buying a car any other way.

bmwusa.com has a European Delivery section that breaks down all of the models that are available, and what the price savings is on them...

Euro-delivery is great if you've always wanted to go to Europe and drive on some legendary roads, see some awesome sites, and so on... But, if you're doing it just for the cost savings alone, the current $1.54 to 1 Euro, you will get you arss handed to you in the exchange rate...

For me, Euro-delivery is great because I have family and friends that live in Germany. So, for me it's really good because I don't need to stay in a hotel and I don't need to get a rental car while I'm out there. I'm definitely going to do ED again, it's just a matter of figuring out what car I actually want (135i, 335i, 335d, or 535i).
