type of tyres on M3
BMW have decided to change the type of tyres on the new M3 from February2008 from Michelin pilot sport to Michelin pilot sport cup + which has half the tread depth and is primarily a track tyre. I have been incontact with Michelin Tec dept and they have told me that I would be very lucky to get over 5000 miles out of these tyres even if I were to drive the car normally. I would be very interested in your views on this subject ie do you think BMW should have given me a choice? Also due to the reduced tyre tread deepth care must be taken on wet roads.

Hey! Thanks for that...I'm picking mine up tomorrow and have to drive back from Hertfordshire to Manchester. I hope it doesn't rain! I'll certainly be asking the dealer about this, I'll let you know what he says.
(unless I get too excited when I see the car and lose all sense of perspective!) |

I asked the dealer about this. He understood that the new tyres will go on the 19 inch wheels while the tyres for the 18 inchers remain the same.
So...£1,300 for the bigger wheels and £1,200 to replace the tyres every 5,000 miles? |

I'm on PS2's and they are brilliant! Highly recommend them! Done nearly 7,000 miles and still got loads of tread
