My M2 pickup and review
After very long 7 months of waiting my car finally arrived in my country last Sunday.
My friends on a highway toward our capital told me that they seen it on a truck, and I got the intel to which customs office it will be delivered. An hour later, I was already there and I was in presence of magnificent masterpiece.... I was screaming from the cab by the joy of fulfillment and happiness when I seen it in the flesh for the first time... Also, please know that this is my first brand new car, and oh boy the "first" M-car. Previously, I owned Megane RS, F20 116i and before M2 I had F30 328ix m package. Initially I wanted to go with M235i, but I couldn't pull the trigger as I knew that M2 would be coming in 2 years time, and my inner "Jedi" feeling was telling me to be patient and wait. The color, and shape of this little beast just can't be justified by any picture that exists out there. My dealer sales man was shocked, as I was the first who notified them that my car arrived with those pictures, so on Tuesday morning when the car was released from the customs I was invited to come and see it once again. It was in transport mode, and it had just 00002 km or 1 mile on the clock. I was offered to pick it up on the same day, but due to private reasons it had to wait for Wednesday morning. On delivery day, after seeing it unpacked and cleaned I was speechless again, and what else to add up which wasn't mentioned before by other lucky owners. After setting up of driving position by which I was perfectly familiar after owning F20 and F30, I knew that I'm finally home. Know that I didn't drive the car with the "stick" more than 2 years, and on the first take off I immediately felt familiar with the clutch and stick feel... This is what really brought chills on my skin, as the feeling of driving it was already so familiar within me... Now, I know that I could easily write 10s of pages before and after my delivery as M2 was the only side occupation beside my job, but I respect all of your time and I will shortly summaries the whole experience after 5 days of owning it. I made 130 miles so far, and here is review about each important subject that we mostly care about. Look:Like I already mentioned LBB is wonderful color in day&night and under all kinds of different light situations. The shapes and dimensions are just perfect, and personally I wouldn't change anything on this car. I thought to put a black wrap on the roof, and on mirrors, add black gloss grills, but honestly now I changed my mind, and I wouldn't add anything up except the cf spoiler. Presence: Initially I thought, I till bring out a lot of presence, as I never owned anything that much as attractive, but I did got a lots of thumps up, compliments and silly question like how much it costed me when did you got it and etc. Exhaust: Perfectly loud for a stock, thought I'm sure that the back muffler is still breaking it, as I think it's getting louder and louder. A lot of people complimented how it sounds even better when passing by then stock 991's NA Manuel Transmissionerfect short throws, very precise, clutch feel is just how it should be! I thought to get BMS clutch stop before I got the car, but now I really dont see the point of it. Engine:Power is perfectly linear, honestly I'm really trying to follow break-in procedure but I did had to trow it beyond 5.5k revs just to get the sense of those 370 horses! One engine I warm, I'm always pushing it in Sport+ mode which activates MDM DCT mode, and those small wiggles on hard acceleration really puts a huge smile on my face. Driving dynamic: I'm still don't feel confident to push this baby to the limits in corners, as breaks and tires are still breaking it, but so far it's an animal that wants to be pushed hard in all kind of corners and I really want to find time to fully learn it, in order to exploit it completely! Steering feel:I can't give an honest review, as I never owned any Porsche or M car before. Interior/Driving position:I'm not fan of leather interior, but it gives huge + to overall presence. Dashboard is perfect, and I'm so happy about temperature gauge which was missing in F20... Driving position is just right for me. Ride comfort:Few people had a doubt, because we were not offered adaptive suspension from M3/M4, but from experience what I owned before this is the most comfortable car that I owned so far. My F30 had 19's Runflats, + we have very shitty roads over here, but it's definitely 30% softer compare to it. Overall, I'm still puzzled as I'm not sure if I rather enjoy driving it or looking at it... Thank you BMW, and definitely all respect goes to main designer Hussein Al-Attar and M-engineers involved on this amazing product. For the end, here is a picture of my car made by local car spotter, and engine revs after just 80 miles on the clock. Last edited by Yellowflash21; 04-24-2016 at 02:49 PM.. |

No it doesn't, while the shooting conditions was very bad for them, as it was almost 9 PM.
So, they had to use some of lightroom magic, to increase the exposure and brightness. |

I saw your car on the truck on April 17th, just past the Croatian border into Serbia on a fuel station. First M2 I saw to this day. Looks way better than on pictures. Congratulations! Have fun with it.
