3 Series and 4 Series Brake rotors/pads differences?

Does anyone know if the 1, 2, 3 and 4 series brakes are the same? I'm just on ebay having a quick look at brake pads and most listings say that they are suitable for all models etc. Even the genuine parts that are listed say 3 and 4 series compatible.

True? Or they just trying to make a sale.. Any advice is great!

It all depends on what trim, what package, and definitely what model your car is. So man different combinations are possible that it's just mind boggling. Check out this link: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-b...ke-Differences

The turnermotorsport website does a great job of explaining the differences.

3 and 4 series are definitely compatible but again comes down to which model and what package they are coming from because there are different rotor sizes. For example: mine is a 2012 335i sportline. It came with 340 x 30 front rotors and 330 x 20 rear rotors
An m sport model with the upgraded brakes would have the 370 x 30 front and 345 x 24 rear

So would that mean they are interchangeable? Thanks for the reply man

As long as they're the same size then I would say yeah they're interchangeable
