Anyone have or had E83 X3 20d

Looking for a new car for the wife. Anyone got any thought/opinions etc on these???

My son had one, 2.0d manual M-sport. Found the manual box a bit 'baulky' when cold in winter time, hard to get reverse. 2.0d engine is a bit noisy, but other than that did what it was supposed to. Running one convinced my son to get another E83 after a couple of years with the 2.0d, he moved to the 3.0sd M-sport, he wanted a decent engine and auto box. The 35d engine makes the vehicle, IMO.

Personally I quite like the E83, didn't get good press when new, but I say they are under-rated.
