It's been emotional.... but goodbye! Updates!

That's it, the deal is done on an X5 M50d and the deposit paid.

May I throw myself upon your mercy for you all to allow my hanging around sometimes? The 'other' forum isn't very energising

Good man, well done. You know the rules, what's the spec and interior?

Congrats

Definitely a big bugger you will be going around in.

Most 'other' forums are a bit bland TBH.

You should try the 208 forum.

I avoid using chav overly much

Congrats on your new order Mark.

I'm sure they'll allow us to stick around once we've gone.

When do you get it?

I've been conservative:

Carbon Black
Black Dakota (this is to keep the wife happy since she hates the Coral Red I have now)
Adaptive LEDs
Sun Protection Glass
468M wheels (the dual colour 50d jobs)
Pano roof
HK
Comfort seats
Reversing camera
Surround view
Park assist
Heated rear seats

That sounds like a great car!

You are welcome to hang around on here...is there any good "chelsea tractor" forums out there?

It would be quiet without us eh?!

Delivery September, the dealer has no allocation and it's only the second one the salesman has sold.

Incidentally, this is in the showroom in Long Beach Blue if anyone is interested:

Ooo, that's cutting... it's bad enough that I'll now be 'off topic' like so many others!

I can't believe you went poverty spec, shocking

What about the excellent Nightvision package with pedestrian recognition and spot light.

Also the auxiliary heating for getting it sweet over winter

And of course HUD.

HK rather than B&O? What were you thinking....

Nice spec, did you consider the heated steering wheel or tow bar?

This forum pretty good for 'X' vehicles http://xdrivers.co.uk/forum/index.php/board,37.0.html

Run by a good couple of guy's Some on there has just ordered an M50d and seems to have got a good deal too.

Head hung in shame

I will not rise to your forum style spending spree on someone else's ticket approach to life!

Tried to get used to HUD but just don't like it - sure, I'll get beaten for that...

Thanks mate.

Thought about the tow bar but unlikely to to use it often, if at all.

Heated wheel - wasn't impressed with it, had it on the loaner and found a) didn't like a warm wheel and b) it felt very slightly 'lumpy' so I wondered if this was the heating element.

Don't be a stranger - let us know how it goes, and how easy the tank tracks are to fit

Congrats Mark, I think the X5 is an amazing allrounder, especially with THAT engine package.

I think you'll be barred from Santa Pod when that torque rips and rolls up the Tarmac.

Finally you've bought one!!! Thank the Lord! If you find the running costs a bit high, just park on a street corner and sell some drugs (I of course can say this having had a black V8 X5!).

No excuse for not coming on track day - mine did a very respectable time round Brands
