Opinion: smoked front reflectors?

Yay or Nay?

My guy is offering to smoke the front ones on an LBB but I'm worried.

Any input would be great.

I'd smoke the back as dark as you can. Front gotta color match.

I'd color match both - but if you can get one or the other taken care of free of charge the rear would look like functional vents from afar as others have mentioned. Front is just bad to worse IMO. If you had black or MG maybe.

Smoked front reflectors would look funky. I would go with either clear or body color match.

For the rear reflectors, smoke em would work.

THanks for the recommendations. I think you guys might be right. I asked my guy to hold off on smoking the reflectors. Only problem is i'm getting my car wrapped today in clear bra... I honestly don't like the the same color mod because i want to a little break up in the blue.

Luckily the rears can be smoked at any time..

Stick with the orange then. Will at least be stock and match the amber in the lamps. Hell its easy enough to change later or peel the smoke off if you don't like it, so not really a huge issue either way.

Makes sense and call me crazy but i actually don't mind the front reflectors. But if they do come out with clear, i would swap them. Clear on LBB would look sweet

Found this forum where a guy made his own reflectors. Seems easy enough.

Seems like a 3D printer would make quick work of this they're pretty cheap now.

Yeah, that might be a cheaper, better alternative. Either way would be better than waiting for someone to buy a mould from BMW and start making parts lol

If it were me I'd buy one from someplace w a 30 day return policy, test it by making some teflectors, then decide it wasn't up to par and return it.

This is exactly what I do with odd tools, like floor tile cutters lol

If I were to go clear w a 3D printer I'd absolutely do something bespoke. Like put my monogram down in the bottom to look like a manufacturer logo.

Go color matched reflector on the fronts. It really shows off the lines of the car IMO. Here's a picture after I did it this past weekend.

I plan to smoke my rear reflectors.
