Sad sad rant...
So it's Friday and I have the blues. I tried talking about this with my girlfriend but she just doesn't really care. Figured I would give you guys a try .
I'm #11 at Peter Pan BWM in Northern California, and I am realizing that it is going to be a very very long time until I get my M2... like early next year #realtalk I look at this forum multiple times a day, initially I was very happy for all you peeps getting your M2's and stuff, but that has evolved into a weird level of envy. I already have all my mods planned out, even firm quotes and relationships built with Xpel and Ceramic Pro installers. Heck, even my first road trip and my epic Facebook announcement figured out, even what local BMW club I'm going to join! All I can do is wait and wait and wait and wait. DOOM came out today which should help for a week or two but after that.... end of rant, sorry if I made you cry... don't let me ruin your day -Ryan

Why don't you get yourself on a shorter list somewhere outside of California?

Enjoying the wait
Many of us here feel your pain, and are in a similar situation. I'm on several SoCal waitlists, and have a special playlist set up for when I take delivery of my M2. But I still love my 2004 TSX, so I'm focusing my attention on him until my number gets called for the M2. I'll miss the TSX's sweet shifter and perfectly-weighted clutch, steering feel, the sunglasses holder, the rear doors, being able to wring out all 200 of its aging and naturally-aspirated horses on public roads without hurting anyone or getting my license revoked etc.
So my advice is to detail and vacuum your current ride, and enjoy it (and life in general) until your M2 arrives. If my M2 allocation doesn't come before the end of CY 2016, I'll have saved enough cash to buy it outright. That'll make the first drive even sweeter. |

I am 11 and 7 on two dealers list. Unfortunately I have no faith the dealers will follow that list, so I am in the same boat. I dont mind waiting if I had a real date.

Here in Sweden we have a 16 month waiting list. All dealers are in the same queue.
(I got super lucky and could get one straight away thanks to a tip from a well connected guy. Had to drive half way cross the country to get it though. ) |

IMO being number #11 I highly doubt you will get your car next year at all.
I would call up as many BMW dealers as you can. Put your name down with deposit and pricing and get on a list with under #3 people on it. Traveling out of State to get the car is easy. I have flown to pick up cars a few times and drove 1,000 miles home. It really comes down to how badly you want the car. If you are #11 at a local dealership that to me means you do not want the car badly unfortunately. Key here is: Get on a list with no more than 3 people on it Force them to take a deposit even if they don't want to at this time. Have them email you the pricing for it. MSRP. etc That's it!

All solid advice. I will dedicate next week to finding my true love somewhere out there in the USA. Fingers are crossed AW, DCT, EXEC. I will give it my all before I completely give up lol

Don't know who you work for but don't forget to check for the fleet rate. It's 1500 off negotiated price if your company is on the list.
