07 328i Crankshaft Sensor Problem

Was wondering if anyone's attempted this on their own? Saw a couple videos and doesn't seem very difficult. I had my system read at a shop near me but forgot the code.

It has an N51 and I was also told that it may be covered under CA emissions law which is valid for 15 years/150,000 mi. Has anyone done this?
