Most likely tested by a car magazine, given the nature of the dragtimes link.

It won't be an ass-kicking.

So what? Why do people get so offended? Amgs are awesome cars lots of power and luxury. Bmws are great two. Respect both of them for what they are.

Bad fanboys usually get offended when another car is good. No other car can be good or better than their cars. It's just impossible. All other cars just suck.

I would agree with the last post. These magazines are all over the place as far as stats go in car reviews. It really depends on what mag you read. Just going off of this one for an example with what had caught my eye, Car and Driver says 8.6 lbs per hp for the M3. Well if that were true then the the new M3 would way 3560 lbs. BMW says 3704 lbs. C&D says 8.9 lbs per hp for the benz and again if that were true the benz would way 4013 lbs when Mercedes claims it only ways 3813 lbs. So if they cant even get the hard facts right, how can we trust the performance numbers? In the end they are all so close I don't think it really matters.

I agree. The C63 is going to be a beast with some tuner help. I am waiting to drive one as soon as my local dealer gets there first one. Ya ya I know, I am prob. going to get shot for saying that on this forum but oh well.

I'm with you. Regardless of what the BMW fanbois say, the AMG products are no joke.

These things prohibit me from putting the $$$ out on an AMG C63:
1. The terrible tacked on body cladding.
2. Questionable reliability of recent Benz products
3. Most importantly: Lack of a true Manual Transmission.

Right on. Have a look at our little forum database to get a realistic idea of the true spread in numbers. Click here. Feel free to add results, just document what you put in and link it. New additions are to be in blue as well.

Oh i agree. I have a spot reserved for the new M3 and C63 AMG. I would like to at least get the chance to drive the benz before I make my choice. But I know I will most likely go with the BMW just for the reasons you have stated below (Not to mention I'm a BMW factory tech and I know the product). Looking at the JD Power info for the last C class kind of scares me.
