340i M Adaptive Suspension - H&R spring install

Hi guys,

New to the F30 platform. I'm coming from a E36 M3 and was wondering how much different the spring install is. My old car didn't have fancy sensors and what not for active dampening....is there anything in particular I need to look out for when installing springs on the M-adaptive suspension? TIA.

As far as the adaptive components... The wiring harnesses are clipped to the strut and shock bodies so plug and play.

Other differences to e36m3... Off the top of my head having done both cars...

1. Make sure to unplug the headlight vertical aim sensors on the control arms.

2. Some amount of f3x hardware needs to be replaced as are angle torque bolts.

3. Will probably have to drop one end of each of the rear lower control arms to fully swap springs.

What are "angle torque bolts"? Surely the original bolts can be reused no with some loctite?

No they stretch, retightening them again could lead to failure down the road.

Correct! Installed with an initial torque (e.g. 20 ft ln) then a rotational degree (e.g. 90*) to create the "stretch". Non reusable as such.
