F30: Front brake quote indy shop
I was quoted $840 by an independent shop for front brakes using OEM parts.
Does this seem high? Thanks,

What exactly are we talking about here? New rotors and pads? Napkin estimate is $200 for rotors, $100 for pads. So yeah $840 is absolutely ridiculous. Its an easy DIY project.

Yeah rotors and pads. I called the dealer as a comparison and they said $730, found another indy shop that does BMW's and they said $550 with labor

I couldn't believe it but I should have started with the dealer first so I had that as a gauge.
