Best Street Coilover system

So I am looking for the best coilover system for my F30 335i RWD. Its an M Sport adn I am faily sure I do not have EDC or whatever, just the different driving modes (Eco, Comfort, Sport and Sport +). I am trying to get the best bang for my buck and ultimately stay under $1,000.00 I really hear great things about the KV Street Comfort system as well as the H&R Street System. I might get a set of H&R streets that I found a really good price on but would like to hear everyone elses thoughts on systems. I know Megan Racing has a street set that well priced. Bilstein and BC racing and a few others but I am not looking to make my ride harsh. What do you guys think? I can get a used set of H&R Streets fro like $675.00 Shipped. Only used for like 5 months very lightly so I am thinking of doing that.

From a handling/performance standpoint, there's really no point to even modify unless you're moving up to the M Performance Suspension and that costs $1500 in parts.

With springs alone, you're risking mismatched (and therefore poorly handling/performing) suspension parts.

The bottom line is that if you're after better performance with maintaining relatively streetable ride quality, there's nothing under $1500 that would do the job. There's a plethora of options above that price point - you get what you pay for.

Thats kinda what i was afraid of. I dont want to do springs unless I upgrade the struts and or do the Dinan shockware which totals out to more than I want to spend.

I agree completely.

When people add up the cost of the components, they'll realize they're not that far from the cost of the M Performance Suspension kit.

At that point, just pay the slight premium and know you're getting a matched set. Why even risk piecing together random bits and ending up with a FAIL?

Well I guess I will just need to save up for either the KW Comfort coilovers or the KW Electronically adjustable coilovers so I can adjust it on the fly

Could not agree more. KW Street Comfort coilovers can be best viewed as the entry point to many other options at approx. $1600 plus installation. My 2013 335i xDrive sedan has KW Street Comfort coilovers - installed over a year ago. Very satisfied.

I may just save up for those. I don't want to jump the gun and get something sub par

I don't think they make Street Comforts for the RWD cars. I have a set of KW V1s sitting in the garage myself waiting to be installed one these days.

Why wouldn't they make them for RWD? Thats kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

Truthfully, after riding in KW V2s, they are garbage to me. The ride is bouncy, and it just wasn't good. The same goes for the V1s and ST coilovers. I went budget myself with BC coilovers which are bouncy, and at the $1k price point, I'd only consider BC or ST so long as you know the drawbacks. TCKs have been a good experience for me across a few 3 series platforms though I'm not willing to spend as much on my daily driver F30.

I wouldn't consider any springs. At $1500, I'd probably look to Fortune Auto.

That is actually good to know. I really wish that I could drive a car with them installed for like a week. Im in college so spending 2k on coilovers is not something easy for me to do lol.

I just got kW v2 coils. Low how low they dropped my car, and how much better the car handles. The ride is a lot stiffer, but that's to my liking so that I won't rub, because I'm tucking an inch of tire or so

If your drop is more than 20mm past base suspension or 10mm past Sport suspension, then it's likely that your drop is actually hindering performance to an extent.

There's a reason why all the top end suspension kits (ie. BMW M Performance Suspension kit, AST 5100s, Ohlins Road & Track) are set to 10mm lower than Sport suspension. These guys did their homework.

After reading a lot of threads, I think the KW Street Comfort might be the way to go for me. Unfortunately it is not available for the 340i yet.
Also, someone mentioned that an xDrive version of the M performance suspension might be coming out this year. If true, that would be my first choice.
Just waiting for now.

Feels way better than stock, not much into high performance feel so I wouldn't know, I just want my car low and that's what I got. So I'm happy

Why ? I put ACS springs on my 330d with the standard M sport struts they improved the cars handling and kept the comfort level

Does anyone happen to know if RWD coilovers will fit on a xdrive F30? Only reason I'm wondering is because their is a good deal locally for a set of KW V1's that came off a RWD and I wanted to make sure they fit fine before pulling the trigger. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they aren't compatible. when searching for coilovers you need to find ones specific for xdrive or rwd and whether or not you have EDC.

They aren't compatible. Strut body is longer on rwd than on xdrive because xdrive has front axles.
