odd marker light problem

I am fixing up a 2011 328ixdrive that was abused and flooded. It will have a good home now,,,,lol

The passenger side adaptive headlight is broken (new one has been shied) but check this out....the side marker lights do not work....but when I step on the brake pedal, the drivers side light lights up....???? odd.
The passenger side does not work at all. (no power to the socket).
I need to find where the power for these lights comes from....

I did replace the footwell module (it was toast) and have the yellow brake / DSC lights (but no ABS warning)...cruise control does not work.

I know there will be odd electrical issues from time to time but nothing I can not overcome I hope (former aviation electrician from the Coast Guard)...
I got this car really cheap and have no plans to sell it....

Any help would be appreciated....

How badly was it flooded? Some more modules might need to be replaced. If you know anyone with a diagnostic tool it would help a lot as well.

Thanks, it had water up to the top of seat bottoms....but not high enough to get the CAS2 or JBE wet. I have recovered the engine and trans (multiple fluid flushes and such. Runs and drives well. Every piece of fabric removed and carefully dried, no trace of odor (being a corrosion control specialist helps). All electrical components dried, cleaned and coated with ACF50...

I am learning as fast as I can, apparently the replacement FRM (footwell module) needs to be coded ?? (as well as the new battery) and apparently the marker lights are powered by the FRM???.....

Currently waiting for the passenger side seat module....and the only thing not working so far are those pesky side lights, DSC/yellow brake warning lights lit, and cruise control (but the anti lock brakes work fine)....and the adaptive headlight function.....could these be as simple as a coding issue?????

Thanks again!

Yes the FRM needs to be coded to your car. It'll function but it'll show errors because the vin number doesn't match. Best way would be to find someone that can scan your computers or if a dealership does it cheap just have them give you a list of the codes and that'd really help.

I'm not sure where it is located (I think within the passenger seat module) but I think the DSC issue is probably a bad yaw sensor (accelerometer). If you had an ABS issue, then I'd point you to a wheel speed sensor, but since no ABS, considering the flooding, I'd look to the yaw sensor. And if you don't have it yet, you need a BMW scan tool, to help sort things out and program the various modules.

Good luck with it.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Thanks Efthreeoh, all input is appreciated....I just received a new passenger seat module today and will install tomorrow (the one from this car was visually damaged (circuit card burned). I am always up for a challenge and will figure this car out. My friends LITERALLY call me Mcguyver....lol

Haha yeah it's really good to know circuit board repairs (taught myself to micro-solder ! ) you'll have to recode the module to match the vin number so it won't give you any errors.
