Welcome to Wastegate City! Next stop Indy Ave, or Dealer Depot!

In all seriousness, this should still be covered under warranty at the dealer if I'm not mistaken- didn't they extend the coverage on that and the turbos on these N54s?

Well here are your options, get a third party warranty and have them cover it/pay diffrence get upgraded ones, buy oem or upgraded ones out of pocket, get a tune and try to mask them such as jb4, or deal with them like me. Who cares about rattle when your leaving 90% of cars in the dust.

Does the Wastegate rattle mean anything is wrong/bad (other than the Wastegate itself)?

To answer your question yes of course you can adjust the linkage on the wastegates. It is a bitch of a job and a few youtubes out there of those that have done it. It is worth adjusting them but also hope that the linkage isn't worn which means no matter what you do you would have to replace the linkage.
Only way to know is to adjust them and see if it is tight and if not you will need to pull the turbos and replace/rebuild the wastegates.
