Welp, won't get my M2 back for a long time.

Going about 45 mph tonight, Fox jumps out of nowhere, next thing I know I hear it get lodged into the front intake, then falls out and I ran over it.

1) I feel bad about the Fox, definitely was a slow death.

2) My Radiator seems to be completely dislodged, and pressed into the lower part of the front bumper.

There are dents on the bottom of the bumper, can't really see it in pictures.

Yeah so, car seems to run fine for now.

The structural bar on the driver's side is severely bent inwards, multiple plastic parts are cracked all around the intake.

What a terrible day, I hope you guys have better weekends than the one I'm about to have. Cheers.

Thanks, I'm trying to figure out how long it will take to order an M2 bumper all the way from Germany.

Not expecting to have my car back anytime soon, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get it back for a couple months. What a terrible day.

The car is so new we won't be seeing stocked replacement parts in the US for quite a while.

I'm not even sure how that works in terms of BMW ordering bumpers for production builds vs replacements. Most orders probably going to production builds at this point.

Not sure if your open to it but I believe IND has a few euro-spec bumpers. They might be able to get you one quicker than waiting for it to come from Germany.

How long do you think we're talking? A month? 3 months?

Oh I have no clue. Everything I said is based on speculation and prior experience trying to get replacements parts for a new car.

I'm so disheartened right now, I know it can be fixed, but man, not having my favorite car for potentially the whole summer... can't even describe how bummed I am. I doubt insurance will pay for the Euro bumper.

Sorry for your loss.

Insurance will pay for the OE part. But you can/ should cash settle and buy another part if you want. If it's a direct repair situation between your insurance company and body shop then You can have your body shop order the bumper you want and then they will just charge you the difference.

This should be handled as a comprehensive loss, since you clearly hit an animal, hopefully it's a lower deductible.

Your fears about parts not being available are quite Normal and prescient. You are absolutely correct that the factory is probably not stocking up on replacement parts when they are struggling to get cars out ... I've seen that happen on new vehicles from just about any manufacturer for about 20 years now...

Yeah, insurance is going to cover everything. In terms of wait time, what would your guess be? I'm prepared to not have my car back until winter rolls around.

I feel bad for you but more so for the fox since he's lying dead somewhere close to the road.

Do you have a picture of the damage from further away showing the whole front? It doesn't look that bad (superficially).

Sorry to hear this happened and poor fox

On iND site, they show having the euro front bumper. Hit them up and see if they have it in stock.
