Aribag Recall No. 2016-142
Received this in the mail today.
Models covered; 2008 - 2013 1 Series 2006 - 2013 3 Series 2012 - 2015 X1 2007 - 2010 X3 2007 - 2014 X5 2008 - 2014 X6 It basically says that if your airbag goes off, shrapnel may be launched into your face 'potentially resulting in serious injury or death', and good luck with that because they don't have parts to fix the issue, 'at the present time'. Also, if you have other people riding in the car with you, mention this to them... BMW apologizes, tells you to wear your seat belt and contact your authorized BMW retailer should you have any questions. B. |

I notice it mentions the 2006 - 2013 3 series. Does that refer to both the E9x models and the F3x models? It could be just the E9x models as the E92 and E93 models were built until 2013.

Normally, if it was a NHTSA Recall, you can enter your VIN here: https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/
But it doesnt appear to show an airbag recall for my 2013 F30. Only one for the Side marker. Maybe it hasn't been published by the NHTSA yet. Additonally, you can check here: www.bmwusa.com/recall Last edited by Orion4; 06-04-2016 at 09:56 AM.. |
