There is a good tutorial on the ECS Tuning youtube page. I didn't see anything special except they have a tool to release the bracket that holds the base of the front struts, they don't recommend using a chisel, I wish I knew this existed before i did my e90. Assuming your shock setup is like theres you don't even need a spring compressor if you replace the upper bearing stuff. Personally that is what I would do, that would make it safer and easier than having to decompress the factory setup to get those parts. You can leave the factory stuff intact incase you want to switch back when you sell it or whatever.

Best of luck. You can find some DIY's. The setup looked almost identical to the e90 so any of those tutorials will do the job.

Some things that will make everything easier. Torque wrench first of all. 19mm, or two 18mm for the strut bolt and nuts. Ratcheting wrenches and Allen sockets for the front sway bars. Sway bar nut is 16mm. Remove the lower end link bolt on the rear. Strut tower bolts are 13mm. The rear etorx struts can be removed with standard sockets. No need to mess around in the trunk, everything can be removed from within the well.

If for some reason you need to remove the stock top hats they are 18mm 12 point deep socket, standard hex wouldn't work for me. Use an impact gun.

Follow the f80 m3 KW has DIY that's out there:

Some torque specs I found useful.

FRONT:
- Strut tower nut: 25 ft-lb
- Strut pinch bolt: 60 ft-lb
- Strut to swaybar endlink: 44 ft-lb
- Brake caliper to steering knuckle: 81 ft-lb

REAR:
- Upper shock mount nuts: 21 ft-lb
- Lower shock to trailing arm bolt: 74 ft-lb
