Can anyone who has done an OSS style DIY help me? Please?

Ok I am low-key desperate and frustrated at this point. Today I received the LED rings for my e92 and that's where the confusion started. I was and still am confused because of the wires that power the rings. Where do they all go?! I have not opened the headlights yet and will not do the DIY until the 24th because I have new lenses shipping from Czech Republic and so I am patiently waiting for that...

I'll include a link of a picture of all the contents that I got today with the rings and then a picture inside the headlight.

I would not be here wasting my times asking this question, but every DIY I have seen DOES NOT go in depth and explain how to do this, they either skip this part or just take pictures of custom made harnesses that I have no understand of. The Umnitza DIY video on YouTube addresses everything on the DIY EXCEPT the wiring which adds to my frustration ha ha.

Is it really that simple?

Help please?

Thanks!

But there are only 2 wires that power the H8 bulb... I have 4 wires that need power for both rings to work.

Two wires go into one wire so the both operate at the same time. I.e. two positives go into the one positive

Ooooooooooh, I didn't think of that.
Now, which one is the positive and which one is the negative?

They might not be polarized.

Red = positive
Black = negative

If polarization doesn't matter then your golden if it does then it shouldn't be the other way around.

From what I know of LED installations on other cars, they only work when wired correctly. So wire them up and test them; if they don't work switch the wires around and test them again. I wouldn't suggest sealing the headlights until you've tested them.

Those are the ones! The current ones are chipped and scratched beyond repair so ordering new ones seemed like a good idea and I'm really excited for them to get here. The only annoyance is the long shipping time, but I guess the end result will be worth it.

Use a table top power supply to test. I got a nice variable DC with variable current up to 5 amps about 7 months ago. Not sure if you should run 12V to the LEDs though. Read the specs first.

Based on the pictures you showed, the reds will be positive. The only thing to determine would be polarity of what you are splicing into on the car side. Use a multimeter to measure car side. Start with +lead of meter on what you think is + and com lead of meter on neg. You should see a positive voltage on the meter. If not, you had it backwards.

Its just me but I don't like hacking into OEM harness. I would try to find a correct connector and slice your led wires into it and solder it up nice with proper glue lined heat shrink. Do it where if you took your parts off and the others put back on, there would be no difference than before you ever started. If you know all of this, great. Otherwise, good electrical modders have solder iron, heat guns, decent multimeter. Good luck

Alright so what I did was pull out the H8 bulb and put the wires in the H8 bulb connections. Everything works fine except when I turn the lights on, if you go close to the rings you can see they very slightly flicker really fast. Is this something that I could fix? I Googled it and apparently I need to convert AC to DC... What?!
