340i xdrive coilover options?
Hi all -
I'm a noob to the BMW world as I just picked up a black 340i with xdrive two days ago, retiring my 2009 WRX. It looks like the 340i platform is still fresh enough that there's not much on the market in terms of suspension upgrades. Are there any coilover options out at the moment, or are we stuck waiting for the aftermarket? Thank you, Dave |

As of today the only option is the Bilstein B14 kit. Mine are going on this Friday.

50mm is less than 2". Wheel gap on XDrive is like 3 feet, so no problem.

Looks like KW has at least a placeholder for the V1 coils. I'm gonna call tomorrow and heckle them about the Street Comforts.
http://www.kwsuspensions.com/product...-v1-15009.html The wheel gap on the xDrive is just absurd. |

Oh WTF. So no changes in suspension from 335 to 340 after all that?

Yep, I even double-verified with the same rep to make sure there's no modifications required for proper fitment.

What you write is true for the V1, V2 etc. and I think the street comforts. I'm talking about KW's DDC coils that keep the adaptive functions. They have two versions, a plug and play version that uses the OEM sport/eco pro switch to change modes and a more custom version that has its own controller. From looking at the website it's not clear if the pre-LCI xdrive DDC coils will work on the 340xi. Hopefully they just haven't updated the website yet. The downside is the DDC coils cost as much or more than V3s. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...FZI9gQodEqIH_g |

Of course, the other option to keep your EDC is Dinan springs + shockware. Not out yet for the 340xi. |

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1031521 The strut housing is significantly different on f8x vs. f3x but still nice to dream. Unrelated note... If you don't care about losing the adaptive dampers, you can just code out the feature rather than purchasing the delete module. |

Got it, thanks. I'm hoping to keep EDC, if nothing else to soften the ride a bit in winter when the roads around here get rough. But will have to pay to play, clearly.

Some time ago, several forum members from the East Coast asked me to share pictures of KW Street Comfort coilovers set at the highest setting to navigate snow covered roads. Vehicle: 2013 BMW 335i xDrive sedan. This is the thread:
