Upgrade for E90 LCI with HK?

Hi all, what's best way to upgrade the the OEM Harman Kardon system in the E90 saloon ? Would earthquake subs be a good idea ? And presumably it should be the 2ohm version ? Any thoughts welcome - please let me know if I've missed relevant previous posts. Did a couple of searches but most results seem to be for upgrading the base stereo (rather than the HK system).
