BMW M Track Day

I received an e-mail invitation from BMW for a free track day event at Lime Rock Park. Did anybody else from the area also receive an invitation?

Main part of the message:

A BMW M is barely street legal. Fortunately, it’s completely track legal. This July through September, BMW M Track Days is offering you the opportunity to take the finest BMW has to offer on an open track during a half-day driving session. You’ll get to grip the wheel and take control of each member of the BMW M family, including the highly anticipated BMW M2. And if driving BMW’s finest with no limits isn’t incentive enough, you should know BMW M Track Days is completely free – meaning the only thing it will cost you is your sanity when you realize you can’t drive like this every day. Space is limited. Register for BMW M Track Days today, and if you have any questions please call 1‑866‑231‑4269.

That worked for me! Thanks. Registered for Friday as well -- maybe if a few others register we can meet up for the drive down to CT

The nearest location is about 200 miles away from me in Thermal,Ca.

Has anyone ever been to one of these events? Is it worth the drive?

So are you just unleashing a BMW provided car on the track?

I believe BMW will provide the car. There's a toll-free number in the original post. I can call but may not have time until after 5pm on Tuesday (business meetings throughout the day).

For the track time on Friday July 8th, I intend on driving down on the 7th. With (roughly) a 3 hour drive, I want to be fresh on the 8th. Not sure where I'm going to stay but there must be some decent local hotels.

I got invited to thermal last July. Drove down from LA so it wasn't that bad, but I would definitely do the 200 mile drive if I was you. Took my dad with me, and watching him throw the m3/4 around all day was priceless!

Nice, glad it was fun. I think I will make a trip out of it and stay in the area for the week, will have to see whats around there.
