335i xdrive lowering options for comfortable ride.

Hi i have a 2013 335i xdrive sportline. I was looking at lowering options tuned for more comfort. I need help choosing between the two.

1) KW Street Comfort

Hows the ride quality with this on potholes and bumps and what about long term reliability?

2) B4 Bilstein Shocks with AC Shnitzer lowering springs.

I know you would ask, why not B6 or B8, well B4 is a touring shock which is OE replacement, about 15% stiffer than stock shocks and less stiff than B6 or B8. I need to know how the ride is with ACS lowering springs and what about the impact on shock life?

I need something thats comfortable and doesnt need replacement for atleast 100kmiles.

Thanks

I was interested in the same thing. Heard Koni FSD's are pretty good. Hate the harsh/slam feel when I hit a bump. RFT's gone but I have 19's though...so maybe that's contributing.

IMO coilovers are the only way to go. I had KW V1 on my E90 335 and went with the Bilsteins on my F30. Both are excellent options.

I got a ride in a car with KW's today and it was pretty nice. Super low drop, more than I could go sadly. How are the Bilsteins?

I was planning on Dinan springs but, started thinking its the same work to put the springs on might as well upgrade the dampers/coilovers all at once.

I am really happy with the B14 setup. We have brutal Boston area roads and these just soak them right up. The ride is very firm but completely in control and never harsh. I had the H&R Sport on there previously and loved the ride height of those, so I had my shop match that height when they did the swap.

I have the same vehicle: 2013 F30 335i xDrive sedan. After 16 months, KW Street Comfort coilovers continue to deliver what I was looking for: significantly improved handling while providing a comfortable ride. All coilovers are set at 9 clicks as recommended by KW.

Thanks for the input. Do you notice any bounciness that the stock suspension is notorious for...when you go over high speed bumps and the front end just keeps on bouncing.. I just hate it right now, and it makes me lose a lot of confidence in how you should drive a bmw like an a..hole.I drive like a merc drive now which is not fun...

I received many inquires from members residing in US-East Coast and interested in maintaining OEM suspension height while driving in the snow.

This is a link to my earlier thread with pictures showing KW Street Comfort coilovers installed with minimum drop.

KW Street Comfort coilovers - or any other coilover kit - provide _matched_ shocks and springs with different rebound / dampening calibration. Bouncy behavior will be gone after installation of KW Street Comfort coilovers. You just have to select the optimum number of clicks. KW recommended default - 9 clicks - met my goals.

No commission necessary. Are you satisfied with KW Street Comfort coilovers?

Those are 9 clicks from hardest right? Can that be adjusted yourself easily after installation?

the front is easy, because you can access the adjustment in the engine back.

the back is more difficult, but fairly reasonable. you have to jack the car up, unbolt the 3 bolts that connect the top of the shock to the car, compress the shock, adjust, and then reinsert the bolts
