Quick window opening question.....

I should know this having owned at some points an M4 and M235i. However I recently read that on BMW coupes, to aid entry in tight spaces, you can press the unlock button on the key fob twice and it takes the windows down 1/2 way.

Is this correct?

I used to hold the button down opening the sunroof too. Feature sounds handy.

Yes, but the windows won't go down 1/2 way until the door is open, so I don't find it helpful at all.
Holding it so you can decide the opening level (without actually opening the door) is somewhat helpful toh!

Hey thank you.

So does that mean.

1. Arrive at car, damn some ass has jammed in right by me
2. Press open twice. Windows don't open yet but car unlocks
3. Open door via handle ( )and as you open it, either of the Windows come down to half way depending on which you opened? Thus if only driver gets in, passenger window stats shut anyway.

Great.

Oh heck yes on 1...but a new car is like a magnet to the great unwashed. They will walk 2miles further to a shop/store in the parking lot/car park just to park in THAT empty area right next to you!

You mean like this. Heh. I was at Lowe's. It was actually pretty crowded, but living down here, the parking lots are so big that there is always an area somewhere.

It really is useful but the only thing that bothers me is that the first press of unlock, unlocks all of the doors and boot.

That is a setting option under iDrive (keys/doors - or something like that)
