Permagrin

Brought the M2 to the Smoky Mtns for a family getaway. Today was my 1st chance to really drive it on proper roads. I Did 6 Gap in N GA this afternoon and it was AWESOME! Windows down & exhaust for music. I wouldn't know what to do with anymore car.
there were very few drivers' cars mostly sport bikes & harleys [insert eye rolling]. I did however see a sport bike rider do an impressive drift at 70mph right in front of me..
Next up is the Tail of the Dragon and the Chereohala Skyway.

Any nearby suggestions??

Tail of the dragon is cool but too many cops and morons. It's worth a drive once or twice of course, but probably not a destination in and of itself.

Hit up the blue ridge parkway and surrounding areas as your destination.

I agree about the dragon after researching it. It is pure coincidence that we are near it. I'm more interested in doing the skyway, prolly won't make it to the BPW this time.

I ended up doing the Cheoah Skyway, Tail of the Dragon and the BPW from Cherokee to Asheville on Thursday. The skyway was a great drive. In 42 miles I saw 20 vehicles. The dragon didn't have one cop (late morning) but damn at the Harleys. Scenery on the parkway was awesome, at least the few times I looked and the 89 miles of twisties weren't bad either. All told I did 200 miles of hard driving.

Fantastic! Sounds like you had a blast. During the week is usually a lot more low key than weekends. I'll be hitting up that area myself after I get my car in September.

Happy driving!

Cheraholla Skyway (spelling is probably wrong) is my favorite road in that area. We go every year with the Golf R/R32 folks.

The dragon is worth doing on occasion. You should try the road to no where in Bryson City as well.
