Leather Cleaning...being Practical

Over the years I have read innumerable BMW blogs regarding preferences for leather cleaners and sealers. Options range from home-made solutions to the priciest commercial versions.
A few decades ago, German auto manufacturers started applying a coating to leathers for increased longevity and UV protection. These coatings do not allow leather conditioners to penetrate regardless of what the manufacturers advertise. So it seems that you can effectively clean leathers with a mild solution of Woolite, warm water and use of a soft brush. After the leathers dry, you can add an inexpensive final sealer as it will remain on the surface and not penetrate.
Your opinion

i have heard wollite mentioned many times both pro can con, i guess the pro was that it was gentle, the con was that it had to be washed away with water after the fact cause if it was left on it would leave a film

yes all new leathers have a coating but that doesnt change the fact that the proper cleaner and protector will leave the leather in a better position to repel dirt and potential dye transfer

leather master products are the best... smell amazing, work amazing and the protector goes on nice and gives good protection

I use a warm damp towel with a little face soap rubbed on (Dove brand, unperfumed good quality one). If it's good enough for my own skin, it should be okay on treated leather.

I then wipe off the residue with another slightly damp cloth. Then apply Zaino, mainly to get the short-lived leather 'smell'. With the coatings on modern leather, I am sceptical about whether any of these make a difference.

I've also tried the much talked about Leatherique, mainly to try to soften some sun-damaged leather, but made no difference.

I find using the handsoap actually gives a little softness to the stiff BMW leather.

I bought some fine paint brushes and some AMMO NYC leather cleaner. Worked AMAZING.
I'm on mobile, but "Larry AMMO NYC" on YouTube has a good video about cleaning your interior.

APC degreaser then moisturize.

Use the hottest rag/degreaser combo your hands can stand (wear gloves) and the work will be faster and easier.

Leatherique did nothing for me as well. Also their customer service doesn't exist...

DP Total Interior Cleaner is water based and works well for treated leather and vinyl in maintenance washes. Leather masters also offers a water based cleaner and conditioner that works for treated leather and is good to use 1-2x per year.

I never use cleaner. My leather doesn't get "Dirty". I condition it twice a year however.
