Coils or Springs Please read

Hello all,

Picked up a new lease f30 have a set of CI-R. My question is I know springs are not a long term solution for a drop but as this is a lease should I do coils or springs ?

Moderate drop no tracking.

Thank you for your thoughts.

If you want a moderate I'd go with springs. They're cheap and reliable. H&R springs are highly used by many f30 owners on this forum. There are also many threads so you can see pics and such. Since the it's a lease, coilovers would be a waste imo dice you'd take them off and try to sell them after

I'll have to check the other threads I'm wondering how bad the ride reduces. My E90 was a bit harsh and I'd hate to damage my new wheels.

The ride close the stock people say. If you'd like a firm ride you can choose to get coilovers. I myself for kW v2 and love them

being that its a lease, and strictly ONLY because its a lease, id go with the springs.

otherwise I always say buy the coils. youre driving a 50k car, I went the H&R springs route to start and it was the worst 3 months of my life. bent 3 of my wheels and felt like I was driving around a tin can everytime I hit bumps in the road.

also if you go springs, get the dinan set with bumpstops since the stock ones will cause you to bottom out on most aftermarket options.

Sounds harsh as heck! Haha not really looking for that option. So it's still hard with the spring setup?

I'd get coils every time. It's the only way to get the perfect right height. Its rare that I find a set of springs that makes my car sit exactly how I want. But just as important as the height, I enjoy the matched spring and damper combo which give you a much better ride and performance compared to springs alone.

I also lease all my cars and opt for the coils.

Couldn't agree more. I'd just pull the trigger on the coils, better all around
