Removing trim pieces

Help!!

I'm attempting a worthwhile project to wrap my walnut burl trim with 3M carbon fiber 1080 vinyl. I say attempt because I am having trouble unplugging the wiring harnesses on the center dash trim. I've got the trim unfastened, but I can't unplug the harnesses. I've tried giggling, pulling, prying, and nothing is working. I don't want to damage anything.

Any hints are appreciated. Thanks!

The dealer techs use something similar to these:

You don't need to remove any harnesses to remove the center dash trim. There are some clips around the a/c vents that you need to unclip and it will come right off leaving the a/c vents in place.

Thanks. I bought those and they work great. I have the trim off. Its the harness. I just learned from another poster that I don't need to take the harness off at all. I'm good to go.

That is great. I was pulling my hair out. I will undo the clips and leave the AC vents in place.

Garage List
You're going to vinyl wrap that piece without taking it out of the car or disconnecting the ac vents?

No. I'm going to take it out of the car and vinyl wrap it on my work bench. If I understand post #3 correctly, I can remove it by undoing the clips to the air conditioning vents and wire harnesses. I'm certain trying to wrap it inside the car would be difficult.

Long answer: I searched extensively for an answer in two BMW forums, Google video, and Youtube. I came up empty so I thought I would bother my fellow F30 members with my stupid question. It took me 3 minutes to get the answer I needed.

Short answer: Apparently, you know something about righteous. Who the hell are you to be telling anybody how to post?
