Those of you in the southern US - how are your temps holding up?

It was absurdly hot and nasty today in the Central FL area - my fan was putting in extra work and trying to sound like a jet taking off most of the day during my putzing around town.

I was parked on a residential street for a bit and saw an e92 328i start up and drive passed and I couldn't even hear his engine/exhaust, only the fan!

So how is everyone else holding up?

Just glad I installed an intercooler lol. Besides that I don't use Auto AC much since fan goes full speed the entire drive. My fan is the same, sounds like a jet by the time I park.

Same! Just had mine put in on Wednesday and it has definitely been worth it.

Yeah it was hot as balls today. My temp is normally in the middle between 160/220 and today I was on it on the highway and local roads. This includes being idle for over 20 minutes in traffic.

Sounds exactly how my day went and I think it got the hottest during the idle time, except I was just parked not dealing with traffic... I've forgotten what traffic was since moving to Orlando from Southern Cali.

Oil bypass? Is that different than the oil cooler valve? I just had the valve, 7" FMIC and downpipes installed wednesday so I'm still adjusting to how the car acts/sounds/feels/etc now.

Before the FMIC and valve I sat consistently at 245/250 - now I'm seeing it as low as 190 and never really above 230 like in the picture.

You do know the fan will run once the A/C system is on right?'Specially in such hot climates the fan will crank up to atleast 95%

Of course I do, I've owned both of my BMWs while living in FL. I just always find it funny how loud they can get.

My car averages around 250 if I'm driving long enough. Completely stock, don't have BMW's oil cooler either. I live in the northern Midwest too, haha. So if you guys are seeing below 250, as I'm reading in this thread, then you're fine haha.

Never above 220 even under stress. Upgraded IC and oil cooler help.

I've noticed BMW has the loudest radiator fans ever created.

With the AD Engineering oil thermostat I see 215 degrees while going 80, with it 95 + outside. Prior to that I regularly saw 245 +.

+1 for AD Engineering thermostat. Had the BMS valve but got tired of removing it when the weather turned colder, worked great tho.

Mine's is always 2-3 tick marks before 250 on a hot day but fluctuates occasionally when I push it here and there. AT night though it's a lot less. But I've never seen it cross 250 yet. And at least we have electrical fans. My E46 sounds like a UPS truck with the mechanical fan on the Steptronic.

Been pretty hot and humid here in Tampa, but the oil temp on mine has been within the normal range (230 and 240). Have not seen it ever hit 250 or higher, but it's gotten up to about 245 during stop and go traffic. That's about it.
Had the cooling system checked no too long ago by my trusted mechanic and he says everything is working fine.

We are not getting hammered as much as I thought here in SA.. but to answer your question OP, my engine runs in the same range as your pic.

Mine is a 335i N55 with the factory oil cooler over in the right front. No upgraded IC..... yet.
