Possible to retrieve cleared codes?

Hi all,

Is it possible to read codes after they have been cleared?

My car has coded previously but once it was repaired the dealer cleared them but is there any historic memory of this? Also are stored codes date stamped so i can see the date it coded or will it just list the code and times occured?

Deleted codes are not retrievable.

However, your key does store the codes that have been recorded by the DME.
But these too, are lost when you reinsert the key into the ignition after clearing the codes.

If you use only Comfort Access, of so equipped, and never put the key in the slot, you may still have codes on it. But you'd need the dealer to read them.

But then again, if you strictly use comfort access, you probably don't have the codes written to the key in the first place.

I don't believe errors are date stamped. They are stamped with the mileage, in km, that the error occured .

Old coding is not stored anywhere.
Best to backup your modules, after you have the coding how you would like t.
