Lock Knob Bezel Replacement
Hey Everyone,
The lock knob/pins in my f30 rattle like crazy and I heard that there is an updated bezel to resolve that. I ordered both front parts, but would like to avoid taking the door panel off if possible. I would think that a plastic panel popper should be able to remove the bezel from the top of the door panel, but there's a lot of resistance and I don't want to break anything. Has anyone replaced these before, or had the door panel apart and can speak from experience? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! -Sean EDIT: Part #4 on the diagram is the piece ordered: |

Just to update for posterity: the bezel CAN be removed from above. Use a paper clip bent into a U-shape and a plastic panel popper. Push in with the clip from the window side of the bezel to compress the one movable side of the clip. It requires a bit of force to come out.
It came out, nothing was damaged, and the new bezel has larger (or just non-broken) guides for the pin. No more door lock rattles! |
