Pull your oil filter and see if it is full of metal flakes. If it is, time for a new motor unfortunately.
That sounds a lot like my car did when a rod bearing spun. Although there was one guy with a pretty similar sound and it ended up his belt partially shredded and was slapping stuff, so take a quick look at your belts too. Here's my motor with the spun bearing:

It has 124k miles on it and the shop said they're taking off the oil pan right now to inspect the bearings but they want 3000$ just to replace bearings...

This reminds me of my M5board.com days as every other thread related to S62 rod bearing issues. Are you the original owner OP?
