Airbag rentals - anyone get an AWD replacement?
I haven't pursued a rental for either of mine (02 E46 and 07 E92) but I'm wondering, for those who have xi, did you ask for or were you able to get an AWD replacement? Without opening up the whole "RWD is OK for winter" discussion, one of the main reasons I chose my 328xi was for the AWD. I wouldn't want to downgrade to FWD, as it sounds most people are getting (esp. since a rental would also have all-season tires).
I hadn't given this whole airbag thing too much thought since I haven't heard of any Takata injuries in BMWs (has anyone?) but I'm now thinking about how my airbags are now 10 and 15 years old...

i havent gotten the airbag recall, but when i take mine in for other service, I get XIs in the winter and Is in the summer. I think they dont want to risk someone used to AWD in the snow with their vehicles.

Enterprise....I've heard of dealer loaners being taken off the lots...I dunno anyone who has one, and if it's for 5 and 7 and 6 etc. owners, not 3's?
one benefit of Enterprise is BMW is paying the CDW, so it's not on your personal insurance... |
