Car won't even idle now after VCG replacement.

I checked all the connections and everything seems fine. The code I got was something about lean which lead me to believe it's a vacuum issue, but I have no clue since all the connections seem fine. I need help

If the car gave you an error code, post it.

I don't have access to a code reader at home and I'm so fed up with it I was able to get it over to the local shop. So we will see what happens.

Just remove them, clean, blow with compressed air, and reinstall in the opposite locations. Just may work.

Good idea! You think it could also have been caused by not relearning the valvetronic stuff with the scan tool?

Why did you replace the VCG to start with? Was the engine already running poorly before? I've removed the Valvetronic motor several times and have never done any coding for it and have not had a problem. Just waited 15 seconds with the ignition on a couple of times before starting the engine.

Had oil leaks because of the gasket, so we replaced the gasket. It would drop onto the catalytic converter and seep into the ignition coils. Car ran fine prior, aside from a cylinder misfire bc of the oil leak onto the ignition coil.

Maybe you broke the oil vent hose coming out of the back of the valve cover.

Really need the codes to help you. Lean would suggest vacuum leaks which could come from many different sources.

Just did this to my car. Check the seam between the valve cover and the block. I had a vacuum leak because the gasket was pinched on the driver side. 4 inches of space haha
