CAR Audio. No BASS?

Hello all,

I'm hoping you can help me out with this situation I am having. I have a 2011 335IS with the 7logic HK sound system and every now and then the BASS will completely go out. In some instances it's just the passenger side sub that will go and the driver side will still be good. I fell like the amp just stops working cause of the quality in audio... but a lot of the time it will just be the passenger sub that goes out. Any thoughts? suggestions on what might be causing this issue? It's really frustrating. It is happening now more that often.

There is a stereo sub forum here

Usually L7 amps go out because water gets in the trunk area.
I would check that as first step.

First thing I did but found nothing. Iono if it is a loose connection or what but I'm stumped. On top of that... the cost for the AMP is over $1K!!!!

You can get used amps cheaper and get them fixed

You can get used L7 amps cheaper and/or get them fixed.
One guy I talked to looked up the output chips and
and replaced the two for the under
seat channels for something like 30 bucks.
You find the L7 amps for sale in the buy and sell section here and on
ebay.

I would check the connections at the radio and the subs. If it's the amp, you can get a Rockford Fosgate 360.3, which is a better amp than stock, and its $599.00.

it could be your subs going bad? If so, look at the ghost's at Bav Sound.

a rockford 360.3 is not even an amp.

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...tails/3sixty.3 Its a processor only.
You would still need a multi channel amp
on top of this. And a recode to Hi Fi to make it work at all
with a Logic 7 system plus a new analog harness.

Also there are no amps that interface with a logic 7 system
(idrive or pro head unit)since
it uses a fiber optic connection that is coded in a proprietary BMW
Most Code.

There are two ways to put in an aftermarket with Logic 7 amp/processor
1 recode the head unit
2 buy and expensive mobridge da2 preamp that will translate the BMW fiberoptic
signal to analog.

Better to recode and buy one of the Helix products that are
both and amp and a processor.

So i removed my seats, checked both subs and both were good. Connections were good, no damage, just overall clean. I'm stumped... I'm thinking it is my amp. Now, the bass and quality goes out when ever I listen to a song with bass at max volume level. So I'm thinking all roads lead to my amp?

9/10 times if the bass goes out after playing it's the amp - usually too much electricity or heat
