Lowering the front of my F30!
Hi guys,
I am very new to all this suspension talk etc. I am looking to lower the front of my F30 by maybe 20-30mm, what is the best option for me to do. I take it I would need to buy new springs for the front of my car? I will try find a better side on image over the next few days, but I am happy with my cars stance at the back wheels but I feel the front could do with lowering slightly. |

if you're going to change springs do all 4. you'll upset the handling balance.
springs are cheaper initially however it puts extra wear on the stock strut and you'll have to deal with problems associated with that, sooner or later, resulting in more time and money. i'd invest a little more now and do this once. how about something like Bilstein B14 PSS coilovers so you adjust the ride height exactly how you want and and improve handling performance, without breaking the bank? |

Ive been in the same boat for a while trying to decide what I want to do as far as lowering it. From the hours and hours of research ive been doing, stay away from just springs. This leaves you with two options: m-performance suspension (since it appears you already have the m-sport suspension), or get adjustable coil-overs. You can not just change the front, you would have to do front and rear. So for your needs coil-overs are the only option. They would allow you to level out the stance which is what you are trying to do. I would recommend the Bilstein PSS10 Komforts (part number 48-229012). They are the only reputable coilovers I found that will allow you to keep the rear ride height and do a subtle drop in the front.

I ordered the comfort 48-229012, but after being backordered 2 months and projected delivery was another 3 months, i went ahead and ordered the regular model 48-217170 had them installed last week. I highly recommend it. Also you can only go as low as 1 in from the top of the tire, any lower you will need more hardware to adjust the camber according to the shop.

you can always do springs which will likely give you what you are looking for or a complete coilover kit should you decide. plenty of option out there like Dinan and others
