Hawk HPS 5.0 - 30k miles
Hey guys, I just replaced my brake pads last night.
30,000 miles ago, I replaced the pads (Hawk HPS 5.0) and rotors (Meyle blank rotors). I've never had a car eat through brake pads so fast. I do some spirited driving once in a while, I don't track the car. I know these are performance pads so they wear out faster, but 30k miles seems really low? Before that, I was on the OEM pads, which last me over 75k miles. How many miles do you guys typically get out of your pads?

seems strange that you blew through them so fast. Do both fronts and rears need to be replaced? if it's rears only, that usually means you are using your traction control a lot :-P.
I'm on the standard (older) HPS pads and am approaching 100k miles on them. They are ready to be replaced. I'm pretty easy on brakes tho. fwiw, I replaced the factory pads at about 75k miles. |

I only had to replace the front. There is still some meat left in the rear. I always drive with the traction control off anyways, I hate that thing.

I'm afraid they do along with all other kinds to electronic nannies. Here's a good read on them and how to code them out if so desired.

Depending on the yr of your car, if's possible you don't. Not sure of the exact timing but the E-diff was a software "upgrade"in the DSC module in 2008 or thereabouts.
