All power cut off / Stealer says Power Distribution Wire?

Hey guys, last night all the power on my negibhors 328xi cut off, this morning when they tried to jump it using the battery, the hood is jammed, it wouldn't turn on and the battery showed as being fully charged. She had it towed to the stealer and they are telling her that her power distribution cable is bad. She didn't get a part number but they are quoting 5 hours of labor.

I've worked with these guys before and they are full of shit. Has anyone heard of this problem before? Or what do you guys think it could be?

There was a recall for the power cable to the
main fuse box behind the glove compartment for 07 on wards for
the e9x. Symptoms were loss of all power to the instrument
panel and could cause the car to stop as well.
Some people reported that jiggling it would bring it back
for a little while.
Don't see why the hood is jammed that's and all mechanical
connection.

Its right in the first post x drive doesn't have
anything to do with it . Its a 3 series isn't it.

No good deed goes unpunished.

effected though.

Put the vin number here:
https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/

This should give you if the car has the recall.

This exact thing has happened to me about two weeks ago. Parked it night before and next morning, I unlocked the car got in, key in the ignition, press start, and everything went off. Wasnt even able to get the key out of the ignition. Opened the trunk and wiggled the positive battery cable. Although the cable wasnt loose, I got the power back. Hasnt happened to me since. But I am mostly driving my other car currently.

I am going to the dealership next week to get this recall taken care of. Its scary when you think of this happening while driving.
