My new 335i

New to me at least! Other than a windshield issue (see my other thread) I'm loving this 2013 MW 335i! Interior is a nice upgrade over my LCI e90 335i. Who designed those cup holders?

I've heard good and bad things about the F30 but it's a nice car to drive. The 8 speed is a HUGE upgrade over the 6AT in the e90 - especially in Sport+ with the paddles.

Mineral White needs to be seen in person - photos don't seem to capture it.

Going from the N54 to the N55 I'm hoping for good things in the reliability department, but we'll see. Only 23000 miles so far.

Congratulations. Mineral white is one of the most striking colors. Needs to be seen up close to be appreciated.

Only real complaint so far is the awful rear seatbelts. Pretty much impossible for my kids to buckle themselves up in the back because the seatbelts slide into the seats. I stuffed some packing foam under the buckles to keep them raised up and that has seemed to help - those are the kinds of things you never notice on a test drive!

Get you some 3" seat belt extenders from Amazon. They are cheap and work great. :thumbup:

I agree about Mineral White Metallic. I got it on my 428i gc and get lots of compliments on it. Definitely a color to consider if you want white. It's not too pearly and doesn't look like the ugly "lexus white" people talk about. You really have to see it in person to appreciate how special the color is.

congtrats! i have a 2011 n55 335, and contemplating moving to F30. How do you like compared to your e90? I had F30 loaners a few times, i really like the roomier interior, the brighter, more colorful screen..

its tough bc i love my e90 335 but i know i like the f30s better, except for the wet noodle limp disgusting steering feel lol, that all get use to after a while

Well, it's not a 100% apples to apples comparison I guess, but I like the F30 a lot more. The interior is worlds better, and I was missing things like a Combox on my E90 because it was a 2009. This F30 also has the sport seats which I was missing on my E90.

The E90 steering was very heavy, and the F30 is very light on comfort, but I'll get used to it.

I've always liked manuals, but they are rare breeds around here, so I've been stuck with automatics for the last couple of cars. The 6AT in the E90 is just bleh, but the 8AT with paddles in the F30 is fantastic. If I was ordering new, after driving a car with this 8AT, I don't even know if I could get the 6MT now. Shifts in Sport+ are solid and quick, and the extra ratios really gives the engine a chance to stay in its power band, where as my N54 would quickly run out of steam.

Since both were AWD, I've not had the sport or M-Sport suspension to compare against, and since I've only put a couple of hundred km on the new car I can't really compare other than it seems to bang a lot less over bumps than the E90 which could sound like you were in a farm truck if you drove it over potholes.

For me, the much improved aspects of the F30 easily outweigh the E90's pros.
